AKA Lake Hayward. My second, and third overall incarnation at this location. Maybe using a past name will bring better luck!
Starting with a "D" of 2.5, at least until I see a bunch of 'Staples' logs (That was EASY!). Monster-muggle prone area, can be a popular teen hangout. Skippermark had a hide in the area that got hit a few times, I'm closer to the spot so I'll take a chance on it.... Please be sure to re-hide well and keep an eye for the teens that live up the road and like to drink their daddy's beer in the woods.Placed to be out of sight of the house with the most/loudest kids, which makes the spot quite visible from the ramp. Giving the benefit of a doubt on my previous attempt, the hide area got washed out pretty badly in 2010 monsoon, so it just may be buried... From lakehaywardct.com a bit of history: "Lake Hayward, once known as Long Pond (by the Indian tribes who inhabited its shores) and then Shaw Lake, is situated just north of Devil's Hopyard State Park in the northeastern corner of East Haddam and is bordered by the towns of Colchester and Salem. In 1924, Mr. Goodyear, of the Goodyear Rubber Company, and Nathaniel Hayward were partners in a rubber mill which operated on the lake. Mr. Hayward remained in Colchester, CT when their partnership dissolved, and Mr. Goodyear traveled to Chicago with his Rubber Company. After Nathaniel Hayward's death, the Hayward Fire Co., Hayward Avenue, and Lake Hayward were named in his honor." Check out Nathaniel Hayward's grave at: http://coord.info/GC1H0B6
