Cache is located at a not so usual Railroad crossing for modern times. This is located in the original plat of the town where market and industry was plentiful in the heyday of moving West.
This railroad line used to be a route for Chicago NorthWestern that came from the north by way of Savannah. It joined the mainline railroad along the river just to the south of this location. Spurs supplied materials to the area businesses and factories in the immediate vicinity.
The crossing signs/markers are in the middle of these wide streets where deliveries and market trade was intense in years gone by. Please be mindful of the very sporadic traffic in the area. The railroad has been abandoned long ago as an active line but these remnants remain. A historic photo opportunity. Please use stealth during certain times.
This cache is being released as part of the games of the Jesse James Cache Bash 4. Enjoy the games and best of luck!
