Geocache Description:


Well, not really ... but I know FloridaPanther lives in the Odessa area ... so close enough.

When this cache was published, there were four geocaches in southwest Pasco County that I had not yet found. One was way out in the sticks, and I hadn't had a chance to get it yet. The other three belonged to FloridaPanther. Even after numerous visits, they continue to elude me.

My philosophy of hiding geocaches is "the trip is half the fun". I like to take people places and challenge them to find interesting spots. But once at GZ, I don't want anyone going away frustrated. FloridaPanther hides, on the other hand, seem to emphasize the challenge of locating the treasure. Once you get to GZ of a FloridaPanther geocache, the real hunt begins.

With all this in mind, I have hidden this cache in true FloridaPanther style. Call it a tribute to the "Panther" if you like. It is my trademark grey painted match holder, as usual. But instead of being tethered in plain sight, it is deviously camouflaged for this hide. If you find it, PLEASE replace it exactly as found so that it is challenging for the next person.

Previous geocaches have been placed in this county park. But they have all gone missing and been archived. I don't think this one will be muggled any time soon. It is back in the woods a bit, but in an area that should stay dry most of the time. I expect this to be a difficult find, so to protect the surroundings, I have provided a hint. Unless there are activities going on in the park, muggles should not be a problem. So you can take all the time you like looking around ... you'll need it.

Given the cache title ... I guess it's only fitting that FTF honors were grabbed by FloridaPanther and cusmith.
