Pathfinder Clubs are found in most countries around the world even though the name may be different in non English speaking locations. The club celebrated its 65th anniversary in 2011. The club is for 10-15 year old children and teaches by activity based learning. Being part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church the club teaches the importance of a close relationship to the creator God and how we need to live in the world today in harmony with God and each other. Bush craft skills are also taught appropriate to the age group. Every 2nd or 3rd year there are Camporees when many clubs attend and camp for several days, have completions and do service projects in the community. One of the big events is held in the Division South America in Brazil where they had two in 2019 4 days each having 50,000 attended. In Oshkosh there is the international camporee where clubs from around the world can attend.
In NZ our club attended our local NZPUC Ilumine camporee for NZ, French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Cook Is. It was held at White Rock near Christchurch 1500 attended. All had a great time various activities. And getting used to the French translation.
