Geocache Description:


This is a way to share all the fun of the Pepsi Marigold Medallion hunt that has been going on since 1978 in Pekin ,Illinois . This is a annual event held at the end of August . Pekin's amateur detectives and sleuths prepare to interprete clues given by a cluemeister ...if you live in Pekin we all know his name . A disk that was once metal and then wooden and now is glass is hidden somewhere on public property for all to seek . This has been a tradition in my family since I can remember . We have had so many fun times and many late night runs in search of this little disk . I wanted to be able to have people experience going back to the places where the medallion has been found in the past . So when you find the cache take a minute to imagine the excitement of the family or person who was the finder that year . The finder of the medallion in 1992 was Bob Farden and Vince Byers . Please be careful and follow all posted signs and know your surroundings. Hidden with Pekin Park District permission .
