Geocache Description:

The Moriarty Cemetery, AKA Mountain View Cemetery, is the final resting place available for those in the Moriarty and Torrance County areas.

Moriarty is named after Michael Moriarty who came here about 1880 from Indiana to seek a cure for his rheumatism. He became a big sheep rancher in the area.

The Moriarty post office opened in 1902 and is still in operation. The original town site is west of the abandoned railroad line while Buford was east of this line. Buford eventually was absorbed as part of the city of Moriarty.

The difficulty rating was bumped a notch on this one because of a hostile looking red ant den nearby. Be careful.

Please replace exactly as found. ThanX
