Geocache Description:

As the original Weavers Way Wander has recently been archived, we have, with the blessing of Ascenders, put out a new series along the same route, which is approximately 5 miles long, but in different locations. It is with heartfelt thanks to Ascenders for introducing us to the very addictive pastime of geocaching, that we decided to name this new series in her honour. (We have also nicked some of the original wording that she used in her cache description……thanks for that also!!)

‘The Weavers Way is a long distance footpath between Cromer and Gt Yarmouth and takes its name from the cloth industry that was once a major enterprise in the area.
This part of the Weavers Way lies to the southwest of North Walsham, which was the centre of the cottage weaving industry introduced by Flemish immigrants in the Middle Ages. It makes use of the disused railway line.’

If you have done any of our previous routes then you will know what to expect. This time we have devised a number of different types of hides to keep the little grey cells working. The majority of the caches, however, will be very easy to find. In the smaller cache holders we have included a log removing wire but please bring along tweezers and paperclip incase they have been removed. You will also need a pen or pencil.

Very few of the caches we have put out this time are at ground level. The cache discriptions will be noted if they are. Please read the descriptions carefully as we are trying to ensure that little damage is done to the surrounding area.

Feedback would be appreciated and if possible add a little note as getting 20 emails that read ‘TFTC’ or ‘found by….’ does become tedious. We have to read the emails to check that logs are not full etc and it is always fun to hear the things that fellow cachers get up to.

Finally we both love this area and hope by the end of this walk you will too! Enjoy.

Lock n'lock box on the ground.
