As it was originally written in 2005 by the late, great
motogrrl:
It struck the Kilroys and me as we were talking, that a large
preponderance of East Bay Area events happen in the eastern and
southern counties thereof (probably due to the preponderance of
cachers therein!) And we agreed that there's so much lovely
parkland on our side of the hills, that it'd be a shame not to host
our caching friends in some of it.
The series continues. Our next destination will be Joaquin Miller
Park, the Fernwood Picnic Area. We'll have a fairly standard picnic
and barbecue, gathering at the crack of Noon, continuing until
about 3pm or so. There are a number of caches in this park, and I
suspect there may even be some new ones between now and then.
;-D
Please note that you may be carrying your gear a thousand feet
or so; also, while it is possible that the terrain could be
navigated by wheelchair, it would be tricky.
Your hosts will be providing charcoal, and a quantity of buns and
condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomatoes) and some
other infrastructure (cups, plates, napkins, flatware). Please
bring your own grillables, and hopefully something to share with
the gang. Due to Oakland Parks rules/fees, WE CANNOT HAVE
ALCOHOL ON SITE. Sorry...
Looking forward!
