T.O.G.G.A. Goes with the flow Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

roundnround we go: that makes two years in a row that the summer canoeing/kayaking event has had to be cancelled due to weather. We were just heading out when we got the message about the canoe livery being closed today, so we headed back into the house and called to confirm. We were told by the owners of the livery that they would not be putting anyone in the water due to the level and that it was moving a bit to fast. Not sure if we are going to try to reschedule it as there is just to much disappointment when things don't work out due to mother nature. Sorry to anyone that didn't get notified but we contacted all those that posted a will attend and the livery contacted everyone who had a reservation.

Econfina Creek offers the steepest gradient of any designated canoe trail in the state. Canoeists pass waterfalls, rock outcrops, log jams, riverbed springs and plentiful bird life as they approach State Road 20, where the Gainer Springs Complex enters from numerous vents, filling a deep clear pool surrounded by palms, cypress and mixed hardwoods.

Plans are to meet at the Livery 8:30am and launch at 9:00!(it takes about 10-15 mins to register.) With a stop for lunch(around Williford Springs area)and plenty of play/swim/enjoying the natural beauty around, We should be at the end of our journey and 'taking out' between 3:30-4:00pm(last pick up is at 5:30 for the diehards!)
