Pill bottle size cache with log inside. BYOP
This is another one of my tree science lessons. These are White Pines. They love the full sunlight. They can grow to 70' or 80' tall and 40' wide. Nothing much can grow under them as the soil becomes very acidic from the trees. Birds love to nest in them. They are also great for climbing, although the kids will get lots of sap on their hands and clothes. They grow very fast and make wonderful renewable lumber forests. Your house is more then likely made of pine 2x lumber from Canada or the United States. They make wonderful wind or screen breaks on property lines.
Now on to the caching business... Where are you going to go to when you die? This is where all the pine cones go when they die. I just love those pine cone caches. Some are just goofy. The pine cone is not even under a pine tree! You see the cone laying in a deciduous forest(leafy trees) and you wonder what were they thinking? Not a pine tree within a hundred yards. Hello! Where is the challenge in all that? You twist the cone open, sign the log and move on to the next cache. Atleast put the cone under a pine tree! Give us a challenge!
This hide will have you searching and searching. You will end up tossing cones left, right and up in the air. Pow! They will be hitting you in the head! They will be flying everywhere. The correct one will eventually be like a boomerang and be right at your feet. There it was all the time. So go ahead, sign the log. Be on your way to the next cache. Enjoy the hunt!
Congratulations to DSBIKE for first to find!
