This Cache is located in Chino Hills State Park next to a very
heavily used trail. The location is near a spot designated "Glider
Point" by the Park and is the launching point for radio controlled
gliders. One of the accesses to the park is at the North end of Rim
Crest in Yorba Linda, where you can park, but only on the East side
of the street. The trail head and parking is at 33.54.547
–117.46.806. On weekends there are always lots of folks launching,
flying and retrieving their gliders from the top of the hill as
long as there is a fair breeze. There are also mountain bikers and
hikers in the area.
The cache is discretely placed 30 yds. west of Glider Point, so
you can retrieve and re-hide it without drawing attention to the
cache location. The cache is located only 1/2 mile from the park
entrance, but the first part is fairly steep, rising 150 ft. to an
elevation of 1200 ft. The view is spectacular and very interesting
if there are gliders in the air.
SPECIAL NOTE: With the new construction in the area below this
cache, there is a huge panoramic view of the Pulte track of homes
which include the Terra Buena models directly below.
The cache is in a round plastic nut jar with a screw on lid, 8 x
8 x 6 inches.
