Geocache Description:

(byop)

This cache is part of the GOLD COAST POWER TRAIL.

A joint initiative by a group of local Gold Coast cachers.

Each cache is themed on a critter indigenous to the Gold Coast.

Most of the containers are small golden cache tubes with a logbook only and should be easy to find.

However, each participating cacher has one hide which may be more difficult!

This cache is named after a native Gold Coast Fish called the "Eel Tailed Catfish".

From the Wikipedia Page.....

Eel-tailed catfish commonly grow to about 50cm and weigh about 1.8kg. They have a downturned mouth with fleshy lips surrounded by a number of barbels to assist them with feeding. They are a solid, almost cylindrical, elongate fish, with the posterior half of their body tapering into a pointed eel-like tail. They inhabit slow moving streams, lakes and ponds and feed on insect larvae, prawns, crayfish, mollusks, and small fishes. They build large nests up to a metre in diameter with small stones and gravel, within which the eggs are laid. They have sharp venomous spines on their first dorsal and pectoral fins. If you come near the nest while the male is protecting it he will eventually extend his fins and spines and will rapidly slide against you and slash you with his spines as he darts past.
