Nice drive out in the wheat fields to a view of the John Day River.
We are placing this cache in honor of the early Homesteaders in this area. What a job to try to tame Mother Nature! If you are interested in reading about a modern homesteader, check out "Homestead" by Jane Kirkpatrick.
This is a dry,fragile area, so please leave no trace. It is not necessary to cross fence. Terrain rating is based on summer time access. Can be very muddy in other seasons!
