In the 1950s the school was at coordinates S 46° 24.720 E 168° 21.508 in Esk Street. There was a church building on the street with the school in the back section. Over the following years the school grew, the church moved up the road to the corner of Esk and Doon. So the junior classes used the old church for school and the seniors the school building at back of section.
Around 1968 the school grew too big for the grounds and had to move. The property was sold. The church was used by a carpet shop and later and adult toy shop. Eventually both being demolished and Woolworths supermarket built, now named Countdown.
The only extra bit of information is that it is now an Integrated Special Character School. What is the school and where did it go to?

In 2021 the school moved to another location close by.
There was an other school on this site that was closed down (along with many others in Southland) during Mr Mallard's tenure of Education Minister for the government.

Now you have got the cache location. Accurate to 3 metres. Bring a pen as the cache is a small plastic tube pulls apart.
As the new location is not way into the property it is available at all times with out restrictions.
