The cache is located well above the current flood level on a pre-river-controlled bank of the Catawba River. You should have at least a fair degree of fitness and agility, and you should use a high degree of caution in approaching and retrieving the cache. This cache should not be attempted in wet conditions or in the dark. Also, although there currently is not a great deal of it immediately around the cache, there is a good deal of poison ivy scattered throughout the area. Depending upon your route of approach, you may have to deal with a little or a lot of it. There likewise are a plentitude of nature's creatures around, although you probably won't see any that are harmful as long as you are careful where you reach and where you step.
The cache is an approximately quart-size plastic bottle covered with duct tape. I try to keep it stocked with a number of smaller trade items and an occasional TB.
There is plenty of roadside parking, such as is frequently used by day fishermen, at a couple of strips along the paved roadway above the river bank.
This does not involve rock climbing, per se; but cache access is more difficult than with any of the caches I got during my first 120 finds.
GPS can be a trifle erratic in this area, but given the size of this cache the coordinates should get you plenty close enough, if you dare!
THE MOST DIRECT ROUTE TO THE CACHE PROBABLY IS NOT THE EASIEST OR THE SAFEST. BE CAREFUL!
