A small cache hidden in the walk-in campgrounds just off the road to the reservoir.
Herring Creek Reservoir is a nice place for a picnic or to ride bikes or horses. Drive into the campground and continue to the gate. A walk of only 1/2 mile takes you to the lake. It is said that there are trout in the lake and the stream. Camping used to be permitted on the shore but due to sanitation problems the road is gated and camping is limited to the small campground just off Herring Creek Road. One of the earliest caches I logged used to be in this area so I decided to place a new one to bring people out to see this spot. The container is about the diameter of a 35mm film container and maybe 3X the length. An easy hide in an obvious spot.
