Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small container with a flip top lid. This should be a quick and easy find. Hopefully it will last for awhile. Please put back as found. This hide WILL NOT REQUIRE YOU TO GO NEAR ANY CACTI! I do not want anyone to get pricked trying to get this cache so stay on the flat dirt area. Please read the long description about the guardian in this area.

Even though this is a residential area, this open lot/hill is full of cacti. I noticed a potentially cool place to put a cache and I am really happy that I did not reach in to place it there. Near the bottom of the hill where the cacti start, there is long cement pipe that is about a foot in diameter. It looks to be no longer functional and has a few cracks and holes in it. I walked over to slip my cache in the pipe and just happened to notice a 3 foot long timber rattlesnake coiled up a few inches from me. Naturally I took my cache and got the heck out of there and placed my cache in a more open spot away from the pipe and the cacti. I would not recommend going here at night. During the day, everything should be just fine. Just be aware. Just because I saw one snake here does not mean there are more but it does mean there could be. Then again, snakes can be anywhere. Just use caution.
