Geocache Description:

The cache itself is a Tab lock container and is hidden close to Teachín a' Watch, a shelter built during World War 2 which served as a look-out post to monitor warships off the coast the ‘Stags’ are a group of five precipitous rocks composed mainly of schist rising out of the sea to a height of 328ft/100m, and are 1.6 billion years old.

On the way to the cache you will walk through EIRE 63 and not AREA 51 which is spelled out on the ground using rocks, so it’s visible from the air. Ireland remained neutral during the war and the pilots would be aware of where they were exactly at this point.
To find the cache you’ll need to get to the little pier at Portacloy where you can park or whatever, then head north following the black trail markers till you cross a little stream, then continue north on a sheep trail all the way climbing as you go which is pretty obvious. You’ll need good waterproof shoes as it can be very wet underfoot. Also it’s dangerous in windy conditions up there so take great care near the cliff edges, it was bad when I placed it and I almost wish I wore a nappy at the time.
