Merry and his band of hobbit friends arrive in Bree (Gibsons), a small hill town on the sea, populated by big people as well as elves and hobbits. They spent the day exploring the town and gathering clues to decipher a secret message left by an ancient band of elves. If they were successful, these were the coordinates of the hidden elfin treasure (geocache).
The PJ11 Legacy "Merry Brandybuck's Trip to Town” Geocache was open for business on July 10, 2011, opening day of the Pacific Scout Jamboree (PJ11) July 10 – 15, 2011, held at Camp Byng in Roberts Creek (GC13Q1R). Kayaking, biking, exploring, camping, hiking, sailing and an introduction to geocaching were some of the activities provided for the 4000 Jamboree attendees.
