The 'Hill' 'Canyon' 'Bridge' Challenge Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

LavaLizard: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Best parking is in the large lot on the west side of Hill Canyon Road. The new bridge over Conejo Creek is a short walk south from there. As is customary with Challenge caches, the given coordinates *are* where the cache is, but you must fulfill some requirements before you can claim a Find... [235/203]

Congratulations to Big Eagle for being FTF, and to GWRoss for posting the first qualifying list

Challenge caches are all the rage, nowadays. We have been looking for places where we could set up a few, and now that this area is easier to get to, it seems ideal for one.

This particular challenge is based on the "Bear Creek Redwoods Challenge", GC2KRMA, by kablooey & Vaudesir, but we tweaked things some, eliminating a requirement that would make this very tough, and changing a couple of others.

RULES:

1) There is no time limit. All cache finds qualify - past, present and future - as long as they fulfill the remaining rules. You might already qualify!

2) All qualifying caches must have been *hidden* before 1st January, 2012. Archived caches count. All cache icons count. Finds on your own caches do *NOT* count, even on challenge caches or caches that you adopted out. If you adopted a cache from others after you found them, that's OK; please note that in your list (see rule 6) below).

3) To log an on-line Find, you must Find (i.e. sign the physical log, or fulfill other requirements, as appropriate) a total of 30 caches that fulfill the following:

3a) Ten caches must include the word "hill" or "hills" in the cache title. The word must stand alone: e.g, a cache with "Hillsboro" in the title will not count. The word must also be spelled properly in the title; we cannot assume that a misspelling is, in fact, an error.

3b) Ten caches must include the word "canyon" or "canyons" in the cache title. The word must stand alone: e.g, a cache with "upcanyon" in the title will not count. The word must also be spelled properly in the title: no abbreviations or misspellings.

3c) Ten caches must include the word "bridge" or "bridges" in the cache title. The word must stand alone: e.g, a cache with "Bridgeville" in the title will not count. The word must also be spelled properly in the title.

3d) A Find on this cache cannot be used as a qualifier for this cache.

3e) You cannot use the same cache twice as a qualifier. For example, a cache named "A Bridge in the Canyon" can be used for either "bridge" or "canyon", but not both. Your list must have 30 different caches.

4) In addition to the above, you must have at least four different cache icons somewhere in your list. By "icons" we mean traditional, unknown, event, etc, not cache sizes.

5) As is customary with challenges, you may sign the cache log before qualifying, but you may not claim a Smiley until after qualifying. Find logs posted without a valid qualifying list will be deleted; this is only fair to those who have done the work.

6) When you claim your Smiley, please post a list of the 30 (or more) qualifiers. See our list, below, for the suggested format. You may do a public bookmark, or simply list the caches in your Find log. You may also attach a link to a list kept elsewhere: your personal server, a file-sharing site such as Dropbox, or any storage site in "the cloud".

Feel free to ask us if anything in the rules doesn't make sense, or you have any questions.
