Geocache Description:

LOC 1-5 (Lakes of Cambourne No. 1-5) is a small series of five geocaches created by Discovery Team, PenguinTB and My Melody. All caches are easily accessible from public pathway.

Cambourne is a new settlement in Cambridgeshire. It lies between Cambridge and St. Neots. It comprises the three villages of Great Cambourne, Lower Cambourne and Upper Cambourne. It is being created by three of Britain´s leading house builders – Bovis Homes, Bryant Homes and Taylor Wimpey. Planning permission was given in November 1996, while construction began in June 1998, on what was previously farmland. Cambourne was initially going to be named Monkfield after the name of the original farm, which is commemorated by a Monkfield Lane in Great Cambourne. The name of the community was created from the names of Cambridge, the nearest city, and Bourn, a nearby village. Part of Cambourne development includes a country park with several lakes around the settlement. Let´s have a look on them...
.
WHOMPING WILLOW LAKE is obviously named after Whomping Willow. Whomping Willow is very valuable, very violent species of magical plant. It attacks anyone and anything that comes within range of its branches. The most famous Whomping Willow is one planted on the grounds of Hogwarts.
