Tired of finding soggy cache contents even when the cache is
located in a sheltered spot?
This cache is an experiment to see if a cache could be built
that is totally waterproof even while continuously floating in
water and often submerged by waves.
Check out the video of how it was created and placed here.
Note: The co-ordinates are taken where the anchor is
located. The actual cache will move around this point with
different currents and wind directions but it will be within the
GPS resolution.
Please be careful not to drag the
anchor. The cache is attached to the anchor rope with two
carabineers and should be removed while you sign the log etc. The
carabineers are attached to flotation so they won’t
sink.
If you do drag the anchor, make sure the
anchor is replaced back at the listed co-ordinates.
Nearby are some of the old oyster leases that date back to the
1920's.
The difficulty rating of 2.5 is because you may find it
difficult to work with the cache while trying to stop your vessel
from drifting.
My thanks to Usat31 for helping place this. It was quite rough
and windy on that day, and it would have been difficult to do on my
own.
