Geocache Description:

This geocache is not at Dunham Grove Cemetary. After careful thought we decided to place it here.

After talking with a local Fayette County resident I was informed of the neat, outlaw history that was associated with this geocache.

Dunham Grove Cemetary is the final resting point to two brothers buried side by side. They are the infamous Barber brothers.

Back in 1883 the Barber brothers reportedly murdered the Fayette County Deputy Sheriff Sheppard and a hunt was on for their arrest.

There are many newspaper articles that I could find that has them captured near Sumner and taken to either the Waverly jail or the West Union jail. I have also heard that tickets were sold to watch the hanging.

What intrigued me most about the story was that apparently every Memorial Day someone lays a single rose on their grave and no one knows who......

After finding the geocache feel free to travel down the road and check out the cemetary.
