Four Seasons Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

iowaPete: Well, gang, it's been a terrific year for this experimental cache. I enjoyed receiving all of your log entries for the many visits to this cache.

It was one year ago today that this cache was published. It's time to put it to bed. I hope you had fun chasing this one!

Congrats goes out to BigBrotherBear who managed to sign in on the log for this cache for EACH of the four seasons of the year. [^]

But, never fear. A new cache will be in place -- and very soon.

Keep on cachin'!

iowaPete [:D]

Geocache Description:

A traditional cache hidden in a classic fashion.

Located in what the locals call "Centerville Hollow," this geocache is hidden on private property with the permission of the property owners. Make sure your gps is turned on and locked in on the satellites before you arrive, because reception near gz is going to be tricky during the seasons when the leaves are on the trees. You may park your vehicle on the concrete pad located in the driveway, but be aware if a vehicle wants in or out of the driveway; you may need to move it out of the way to allow the car to pass, but you can move it right back to the pad.

The cache name is significant because the container and its contents change each time the seasons change. The containers will either be small or regular in size. Because the cache contents will change with each season, I will happily allow you to log a "find" for each season that the cache is out. You can earn 4 smileys for this cache if you desire. When the cache contents are changed, I will post a note to the cache log and add it here in the description. Please feel free to trade swag. It doesn't have to match the season, just enjoy making the trades. You're also free to photo the find. This is not meant to be overly difficult. It's meant to be a fun cache to visit.

Finally, make sure you WAVE AT ALL THE VEHICLES you see passing by. We're a friendly group of people around these parts. If you don't wave, the neighbors will think you're "up to something." So, to blend in with the locals, WAVE a HELLO! They'll likely smile and wave back. Please no night caching. Sure hope you enjoy. :)

For the Fall 2011 cache, you're looking for an ammo can. For the Winter 2011 cache, you're looking for a cannister with a locking latch. For the Spring 2012 cache, you're looking for a pickle jar with a screw-on lid. It's seasonally decorated! For Summer 2012 cache, you're looking for a 1lb ointment jar, also camo'd for the season. PS. to keep up to date on the seasonal cache opportunities, please put a "watch" on this cache.
