Geocache Description:

A small cache placed near to a main road with a footpath. Please park on the road in the nearby Castle Business Park and walk to cache.

For many years we passed by Stirling on our way to the Highlands for walking trips. The point on the M9 where it emerges onto the Carse revealing the distant hills and the Castle marked a key point in the journey - we had arrived in Scotland.

The first time we entered Stirling via this route was when we came up for Mrs Ratty's interview for the job that brought us up here and she now works close by. We were struck by the lovely fountain, the restaurant with veranda over the duck pond and the obelisk recognising the entry into the City of Stirling which frame the castle as seen in the picture below.

Welcome to Stirling

It may not say Welcome to Stirling but we have certainly been made to feel welcome up here and love our adopted home. As you will see from the cache container we have also come to appreciate some of its culinary delicacies. Thank you Scotland!
