The cache is a drive by on Reid Rd which runs up into the Papamoa hills off Welcome Bay Rd (Papamoa end).Past the cache is a suitable turning area, parking is more suited when facing downhill.
This road has been chosen for several reasons. Firstly it offers some pretty expansive views of quite a large chunk of coastline & hinterland.
Part way to the top are the Summerhill Recreation Trails. This is a non profit making organization dedicated to developing a network of riding & walking trails for all abilities.
At the top of the hill is the Summer Hill Country Club featuring a 9 hole golf course. If you drive up the hill to the start you will be able to observe quite a different house.The roof is planted in growing grass.
This is a private residence so please respect that but it is certainly worth a look
