mountain top cache on pinnacle knob in georgia.
this is an ammo can hide atop a mountain just outside clayton.
there are cliffs but the cache is not near any,so if your gps is pointing out into oblivion just use the hint pic.
this is a traditional single stage ammo can hide.
several ways to get to this cache on pinnacle knob.
you can start at warwoman dell and hike the bartram trail to it but thats an 8 mile round trip.
we picked a shorter route starting at the trailhead for trail 47 on courthouse gap road just outside of clayton.
hike trail 47 for about .4 miles then take a right on the bartram trail for approximately .3miles,you will find the intersection of the bartram and trail 58,which goes up to the top of pinnacle knob.
trail 58 is about 1/2 mile and this is where the fun starts.
from the start of trail 47 to the top of pinnacle is around a 900 foot elevation change plus or minus a couple of feet........lol.
if you travel by car up courthouse gap road please note that at the end is a private residence,the road is marked no turn around and there isnt one,but we have waymarked an area to park.
wear orange during hunting season as you will be traveling in and out of warwoman wma on the trails.
