Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates. You can walk to it, but it also makes for a nice paddle cache by canoe or kayak. It's close to the river -- but which one?

Chariho.

It’s a name you hear and see quite a bit in southern Rhode Island. But what exactly is Chariho? Is it a place? Is it a town? Is it a river? Is it a Native American word? It’s none of these. Rather, it’s an acronym. But an acronym for what? You have to answer that question and more to solve this puzzle cache.

The puzzle icon is at the geographical point where the three parts of the acronym meet. The cache is nearby at N 41 25.ABC, W 071 4D.EFG

Obtain the final coordinates with the following clues:

A. Geographically, the school district here is the largest in the state. What is the third digit in the number of square miles encompassing the district?

B. The letter "e" is exactly in the middle in the full spelling of the first part of the acronym. What numerical position does it take in the full spelling?

C. How many elementary schools are in the school district?

D. Fill in the blank. Route ____ is the non-interstate highway that runs south-north through parts two and three of the acronym, but not part one.

E. How many highway or road bridges are there over the Pawcatuck River that connect the first and third parts of the acronym?

F. If you spell out all three parts of the acronym in full, how many times does the letter "F" appear?

G. The annual Washington County Fair takes place in which part of the acronym?

Per the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management's published hunting abstract, recreational users of Rhode Island state management areas are required to wear 200 square inches of solid daylight fluorescent orange from the second Saturday in September to the last day of February and the third Saturday in April to the last day in May, annually.
