Geocache Description:

East Mountain Area off of Crest Highway(NM536) near Doc Long & Sulphur Picnic Grounds and also the Tree Spring Trailhead. About a 1.5 to 2.5 mile hike with the cache at an elevation of 8000 feet.

Cache is a 4 inch black PVC pipe about a foot long. The cache is approximately 300 feet off of the trail. You can park at Sulphur PG Elev. 7500 ft (Sulphur Trailhead N35 10.482, W106 22.904) with a 1.8 mile hike or park at Doc Long PG elev. 7500 (Bill Spring Trailhead N35 10.645, W106 22.779) with a 1.2 mile hike or park at Tree Spring Trailhead elev. 8500 ft N35 11.631, W106, 24.284 with a 2.6 mile hike. All three require an annual parking permit or pay $3.00 at the parking lot. It's for a good cause as most all of the money stays in the Sandia Ranger District for improvements, maintenance, etc. Wear some good waterproof boots in the winter.
