Geocache Description:

Named for the person indicated on the nearby plaque, this cache is an easy park-n-grab, only a few steps from the parking lot. I don't want to scare anyone away from a geocache, but as usual, be aware that you are in SNAKE COUNTRY. I've included several Off repellant wipes for convenience if you're going on to Twin Oaks, just down the trail.

Congrats to NWR123 for FTF!!!!!!

This is a little-known bird sanctuary with a crude hiking path. The trail to this cache is a well maintained sidewalk but don't be scared to follow the trail around the park to Twin Oaks. It is usually mowed but after heavy rains or in a wetter year it may hold a little water in places. As always, be wary of all the Texas hazards...there are lots of things that will bite, poke, scratch, or sting you! The standard rule: look before you reach! While there are over 100 different species of snakes in Texas that will not cause you any harm (besides maybe scare you to death), there are 4 that could send you to the hospital: Coral Snake, Copperhead, Cottonmouth, and the Rattlesnake. Have fun but be safe! Please replace the cache after you find it so that it's not too easily visible.
