About the film:
With THE SON OF THE PINK PANTHER, made in 1993, Charles Dreyfus (played by Hebert Lom) encounters Jacques Gambrelli, who reminds him painfully of Inspector Clouseau, the man who drove him insane. With good reason: Gambrelli is Clouseau's son. Roberto Benigni, tries his hand at taking over the Peter Sellers comedy benchmark. Not quite. It wouldn’t be until 1997’s “Life is Beautiful” that Benigni would make a name for himself by winning an oscar.
