Good Things Come in Trees Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

roymerc: My neighbour Andy who lives opposite the cache has complained again that people have been trespassing onto his land. Apparently one mob drove up to his house and whined about not being able to find the cache! They got told to go away in the most pungent language.

Obviously my warnings on this web page have been ignored, or more probably, not read. Therefore I must honour my promise to Andy and remove the cache. It is sad that this popular cache must be archived because of the stupidity of some cachers. Andy is a very grumpy person, but he's within his rights to not be bothered, and I respect that.

I will look for an alternative location, but it has special requirements. It will be hard to find a suitable site, or a better one than this.

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A two stage simple electro-mechanical cache on the road to 'My Myst Take.' PLEASE NOTE: The cache is NOT on private property! Trespassing will result in this cache being destroyed!

I have had a complaint from my neighbour who lives close to the cache that on four occasions people have been trespassing on his property. This is rude, improper and NOT necessary; the cache is completely within the road reserve. I've promised him that if it occurs again I will remove the cache. So please keep out. "My Myst Take" and "Stockyard Sculpture Surprise" further down the road are on private land, but that is done by kind permission; don't confuse the caches!) Also my very grumpy neighbour gets extremely annoyed if anyone parks even slightly blocking his driveway. I'd like to keep the peace —and the cache— so please keep well away from his driveways!

I was contemplating calling this cache 'One, Two, Tree!' but that's been done to death. However, trees are very heavily involved. This is a tribute to the noble Karri Tree (eucalyptus diversicolour), in particular those that stand in stately majesty along Barry Road.

It's like driving through a Gothic Cathedral of Arboreal Excess. To celebrate them —and the return of 'My Myst Take' after a long break— here is a warm-up cache halfway down the road. With all this big timber about, getting a good signal can be a problem; so here's a big hint: Don't bother thrashing the scrub, look inside the most obvious spot on the West side of the road.

Please don't block the road or any of the driveways! While my neighbours are quietly tolerant of us crazy cache chasers, I don't want to annoy them unnecessarily. There is adequate space just past the first waypoint to pull off the road and park.

OBLIGATORY WARNING: Karri trees are notorious for dropping branches from a great height! We've lived with 'em for six years now and haven't been hit, but we don't stand under them in strong winds, and I'd suggest neither do you…

This is a gravel road and the Shire sends out the grader to give it a bit of a touch up two or three times a year. If you find a big yellow machine ripping up the surface it's best to leave him to it for a couple of hours. Do some sightseeing, or visit some of the many wineries around here that do tea, coffee, snacks and lunches. And great wines too!
There's Estate 807 back along Scotsdale Road, or (my Favourite) Single File Estate just down Walter Road. (Turn right at the Scotsdale Hall.)

Congratulations to Cruznoz for a prompt and efficient FTF!
