Geocache Description:

Finding this cache will only be possible in a canoe! Water can be very shallow here and you may need to get out and tow your canoe if it is a heavy Canadian.

This cache is along a beautiful part of the river near Bungay. The series may be expanded in the future either by myself or one of the other canoeing cachers who live locally. All caches are placed along the margins of the river. None are on private property.

The Waveney is not a fast flowing river making it ideal for beginners to canoeing. It has a very gentle slope on this stretch. In the 25 miles between Hoxne and Beccles it falls only 20 metres.

The water here can be quite shallow depending on the amount of water in the river. You may need to tow your canoe to get through this stretch esp. if you have a heavy multi-person kayak or Canadian.

The river is shallow because this is an old Victorian Fish Run. The water can flow quite quickly along here so take care if you are new to canoeing.

The cache is a camouflaged screw top container just bigger than a 35mm film pot containing a logbook, pencil and pencil sharpener.
