English

It is a pleasure to land on Læsø. Almost 1 km flat wide paved runway, well sheltered by the surrounding plantation. We usually take a trip in late summer. At that time of the year, we bring both the GPS and mushrooms basket to suit different family needs. The mushrooms should be Læsø next culinary adventure. They are plentyfull and the quality range in our view, entirely in line with the famous langoustines and the salt.

Nowadays forests characterise once again the island, but that was not always the case. In the Middle Ages salt production became industrialised to such an extent that the island was entirely without trees, and in 1600 salt refining became prohibited by law. Two hundred years later at systematic re-planting of the island was initiated.

Læsø is known for its fine ingredients, and when you've had enough of the countryside, a good restaurant or cafe is often nearby. On the whole distances are small on Læsø. The flat landscape makes it easy to cycle around, and should you experience a short summer shower, there is surely a museum, a gallery or another activity nearby.

We have put an un-registrated first finds coin in the cache.
