The coming of the railroad in 1873 caused a wane in river traffic,but the real decline was caused by the GREAT FLOOD of 1883. A huge ice damn broke loose and either sank or destroyed most of the remaining river boats. Up to recent history (the flood of 2011)a sunken wreck was visible from the Meridian Bridge when the water was low !
ABOUT THE CACHE: A micro concealed in a medium sized container.
DO NOT CROSS FENCE OR TAMPER WITH THE BIG SIGN. Not snow friendly
