A lovely little out of the way beach. THE COVE CAN ONLY BE REACHED BY SEA, there is no access from the coast path
This is a kayak/boat cache. The cove is only accessible from the sea. THERE IS NO ACCESS FROM THE COAST PATH" The only land access is to a private house. It may be possible to get here from Coryton Cove, on an exceptional spring low-tide, but if you try it, don't blame me if you get stuck and have to ring the coastguard. This cache was really put in place for sea access only. Shell Cove is a lovely spot in the right weather. Dawlish may be heaving with tourists, but you will probably have this little beach all to yourselves. It's also worth exploring the nearby Horse Cove with its Smugglers Tunnel (see pics). If doing this cache by kayak you have two lanching points. The best is from the bridge in the sea walk at Smugglers Lane (4-5 parking spaces), between Dawlish and Teignmouth. This will take you past the sea stacks of the Parson and Clerk with good views of the railway tunnels. The other shorter route is from Dawlish beach (but you may have problems parking here)
