Geocache Description:

The cache is placed in a patch of native trees on the Te Henui Walkway. No bush bashing needed. The cache is only about 2+ metres off the track.

If children look really hard and they are quiet they might spot a gnome running from tree to tree. They are harmless and shy and sometimes very friendly.
Gnomes are usually on an average about 20 centimetres tall and weigh about 600 grams, but with their caps on they appear much taller. Their feet are somewhat sprayed toed which gives them an extra edge on speed and agility through the forest.
They wear peaked red caps, yellow coats, brown pants and either black felt boots or wooden clogs. Around their waist is a black belt. They are fair of face, though they boast rosy red cheeks. Long beards adorn their faces and turn white far sooner than their hair.
Gnomes can live for 400 years and at 275 years of age they are in the prime of life. They are proven to be seven times as strong as humans, even though they're only 20 centimetres tall! They're always born in twin-sets, kiss by rubbing noses and are known for being quite the pranksters.
They are the guardians of animal kind and show little preference for their animal friends, not withstanding their aversion to cats both wild and domesticated.
