At stage 1, you are looking for something that contains some common geocache markings that should help identify it as a geocache item. It will also contain two dates (Month/Day/Year & Month/Day/Year). If you're stuck, try the hint for inspiration.

To determine the values of XXX and YYY, you will need to find the two dates on the item located at stage 1 and use those dates in the following equations. Use the first date (before the &) to calculate the North XXX coordinate. Use the second date (after the &) to calculate the West YYY coordinate.
