We have been going through more declassified files at a certain undisclosed top-secret government facility near Santa Cruz, and another series of documents has turned up regarding the supposed fictional character, James Bond, 007.

[unintelligible]…laugh at your feeble attempts, Mr. Bond, to thwart our efforts to take over [deleted]. We have ways of protecting our resources that are beyond your wildest imagination. Do not try to stop us! If you want to see Mr. [deleted], liaison to the British Undersecretary for Special Operations, alive again, you must bring the ransom to these coordinates [deleted]° N. RE: Our friends in California inform us that Bond delivered the package, but unfortunately he has been captured by SPECTRE. We must stop the kidnappers by alternate means. Secure the release of our diplomat through American connections. As always we shall disavow any knowledge should this leak to the international press corps.

ANALYSIS: Although Bond admittedly recalled delivering the ransom in our interviews with him, during the mission blunt trauma to the head rendered him unconscious. He had no recollection of the location of the ransom drop site because of amnesia. NSA claims that their files do not show any record of Bond’s movements during this time. I would think a thorough search through certain offices might turn up something.
At this point in the investigation however we are uncertain whether the ransom was picked up by SPECTRE or whether their agents were eliminated before they could reach it. To our knowledge, reviewing all available evidence, the location is unknown and the ransom is unrecoverable. We agents have pieced this together:
1. A ransom was dropped somewhere that only Bond, NSA, and the kidnappers knew about.
2. NSA did not inform the CIA about the location of the ransom drop.
3. Bond had amnesia about the location of the ransom drop.
4. M knows about the top-secret drop site but he did not know the ransom drop location.
5. M left instructions for Bond in that top-secret location.
6. Bond did not disclose the location of the top secret drop site near the "three palms."
7. The ransom never surfaced. It may still be where Bond left it.
8. Perhaps M’s instructions would help us figure out the ransom location, but we agents do not know the location of this drop site.
But of course if you were able to solve the complete mystery of "For Your Eyes Only," YOU ALREADY KNOW the top secret drop location, "Three Palms." By the way, do you know what the acronym SPECTRE stands for? (see hint for answer)
