Tsukuba Kougen Campsite
This site is located on the mountainside of Mt. Tsukuba and richly surrounded by nature. About 140 kinds of wild birds inhabit around here. You can enjoy seeing wild flowers such as dogtooth violet, wind flower, and cherry in spring. If you interested in here, please visit an official homepage of Sakuragawa city.
It is known this is the one of the starting points of a trail up Mt. Tsukuba. The trail is called "Tsukuba Recreation Forest". The campsite is also the waypoint of a long trail which runs mountains around Mt. Tsukuba. The long trail is called "Kanto Fureai no Michi".
There is a free parking lot. However, the road to here is quite narrow and dirt. I think it is better to use a vacant lot of YH. I attached a simple map of Mt. Tsukuba. Let's enjoy hiking and GC!

筑波高原キャンプ場
このキャンプ場は筑波山の中腹に位置し、豊かな自然に囲まれた場所です。約140種の野鳥が生息しているそうです。春にはカタクリ、ニリンソウ、桜などの花々を愛でることができます。利用等の詳細は桜川市のHPでご確認していただければと思います。
また、ここは筑波山の登山口の一つとして知られています。登山道は"筑波レクリエーションの森"と呼ばれています。登れば女体山頂直下にでます。キャンプ場は筑波連山の縦走路の途中でもあります。縦走路は"関東ふれあいの道"と呼ばれています。
キャンプ場には無料駐車場がありますが、そこへ至る道は未舗装の細い道です。YH跡地へ停めたほうが無難かもしれません。筑波山周辺の簡単な地図を添付しました。ハイキングとジオキャッシングをお楽しみください。
