Geocache Description:

The starting cache for our travel bug, overlooking the DW Stadium home of Wigan Athletic Football Club & Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club.

The DW Stadium (Formerly JJB Stadium) was built in 1999; the 25,138 capacity stadium is home to both of Wigan's sporting giants Wigan Warriors & Wigan Athletic. Following the demolition of Central Park (Wigan Warriors) & Springfield Park (Wigan Athletic), controversially both teams set up home together. Traditionally each team's supporters have been bitter rivals neither side welcoming the move. Despite this both sides have seen immense success at their new ground and are both well known teams nationwide.
