***

A. This girl became queen when she was 18 years old and remains the longest reigning monarch in British history, though the present Queen will overtake her record if she stays on the throne until 10 September 2015.

B. This Protestant girl reigned for only nine days, and was just 16 years, 3 months and 28 days old when she was executed for 'high treason'. With her death, the reign of Catholic Queen Mary I (aka Bloody Mary) remained unchallenged until she herself died, in 1558, allowing Protestant Queen Elizabeth I to come to the throne.

C. This girl was 18 years old when she and her brother reigned as joint monarchs. By the time of her death, 21 years later, she had improved relations with Rome to such an extent that she bore children from both Gaius Julius Caesar and Marcus Anthony.

D. Commencing her reign at 6 days of age, this girl became Queen Regnant of one country and Queen Consort of another. Ultimately, she lost her life due to indiscrete, and insecure, ciphers - leaving her opponents with the ability to effortlessly peel her onion.

E. This young woman was 19 years old when her father-in-law died, leaving the way open for her husband to assume the throne. What started out with such promise, however, ended in tragedy a further 19 years later when she died as one of history's most vilified women.

F. Undisputed Queen of two countries, she married two kings and gave birth to three more, all of whom reigned in her lifetime. In her 81 (or 82) years she was, at times, both revered and imprisoned. A truly remarkable life.
