Cache is about 150m down the Colliseum Trail in from the parking lot or staging area located in North Nordegg Subdivision. This area is a cachers delight - not only do you get great views but it has 4 other caches along it's slopes!
Colliseum Mountain, should you choose to hike it or explore it's slope, is a breathtaking backdrop for the town of Nordegg. There are 2 ways up it - the longer, but gentler meandering trail which begins directly east or behind the marker board (which is where this cache is) or alternatively, straight north from the parking lot which has a less well defined trail and is all UP and UP and UP but takes way less time (and there are two caches already going this way) in addition to the couple that are closer to the summit.
So for this one, take the trail directly east of the Trail Head Information Board. It meanders with very gentle elevation past the north end of the subdivision where you'll see some massive "cabins" poking through the trees to the south. Just past this is a steeper section down to a creek bed which during wet season can be flowing aggresively but otherise is either dry or just a trickle. Super cool area for kids to explore. Cross the creek and turn immediately north and follow the bank or edge of the slope a few dozen feet. Use the posted pic to help you find your GZ.
Cache is a cammoed ammo sized container - original swag is "cash/cache" for kids - play money and coins and things used for banking.
