Geocache Description:

Minerva's Altar

This cache is located at the Altar of Minerva, a local Shaman who resided on southern ridge of Pataqua (now Abbott Mountain) looking out over the Valley of Kaloana. Kaloana was a lush and beautiful valley situated between Minerva’s Altar and the village of the Pataqua Tribe on side of the ridge to the north of the Valley of Kaloana.

It was at this location in the year 1410 that Minerva spent 5 full days and nights praying to the god Kilana for the people of the village of the Pataqua Tribe who were dying from malnutrition on the ridge opposite this altar. You will find the coordinates in this cache container to lead you to Minerva's spring where you will then find information to lead you to Minerva's grave, final cache of An Offering For Minerva. Note: There is no need to disassemble the altar - the cache container is not in the altar but is within 15 feet of it.
