The toasty and inviting Cedar Center of Somerset Beach Campground is our Olympic Village Headquarters for the 2012 Michigan Winter Geocaching Olympics. Come and enjoy the snowy hills, the frozen lake, the woods and the fields in a way that you never dreamed!
Time: 10:00am to 6:00pm
Bring along your sense of humor, your sleds and your warm duds as we compete in a series of Michigan geocaching style Olympic events.
Anyone can compete....no particular athletic abilities are needed. (Keep in mind who posted this....if I can do it, anyone can!)
Snow would be great, but we can work around any weather conditions Michigan throws at us..so be prepared!
I'll be providing hot dogs and fixings....and the sticks to cook them on the fire.

Somerset Beach Campground is located in Somerset Center, Michigan (49282), just a stones throw off US-12, about 15 minutes west of the Irish Hills. Please note..that if your idea of going to an event is getting exactly to ground zero of the coordinates, be careful...the coords are the middle of the lake! (I'll let you know if it's frozen enough ahead of time...I promise!)
Terrain rating is pure speculation based on the variety of environments needed for individual events. There will not be any life threatening exposures or challenges...you all know that I'm a wimp. Though rumors of a zip line event are whispered in the wind!
More information will be posted as the schedule is firmed up.
Expect the unexpected. Weather permitting, we will be featuring some unusual and unique challenges. Think outside the box....WAY outside the box!
