This cache is the 3rd of the four Future?Fixer? caches located on the campus of Michigan State University. The cache is located in a clear tupperware container. Inside you will find items that relate to this industry in Michigan. These magic pods are nitrogen fixers and are an important to the present and future of Michigan. Agriculture technology is constantly finding new uses for these “fixers” and it will continue to be an important crop for Michigan and the world.
Michigan State conducts performance tests annually to provide farmers, extension personnel, and private companies with agronomic information on varieties submitted by private seed companies and the Michigan Crop Improvement Association. The Department of Crop and Soil Science and the AgBio Research Station manages all test plots in conjunction with the USDA.
