       La Torre di Camisasca

La Torre di Camisasca si trova su una collina della Brianza veramente panoramica, da cui si vede a nord il Resegone e a sud la valle del Lambro, con i rigagnoli della Bévera (che nasce dal Monte di Brianza) e le colline dolcemente degradanti verso l'alto Milanese.
La Torre è stata edificata intorno all’anno 1000 dalla famiglia nobile dei Càrcano per difendersi dai continui saccheggi degli Ungari.
In quell'epoca, tutto il territorio circostante era caratterizzato da numerosi castelli e fortificazioni edificati dalle potenti famiglie di probabile origine longobarda.
Nel XII secolo, tra la discesa di Federico Barbarossa e la vittoria di Martino della Torre, probabilmente la Torre cominciò a subire delle distruzioni.
In un documento del 1411 la torre risulta essere usata anche come tribunale.
Tra il XV e il XVI secolo i Carcano abbandonarono Camisasca per trasferirsi a Milano, così subentrò l'altra nobile famiglia degli Isacchi.
Recentemente la Torre è stata restaurata e viene utilizzata per eventi culturali. Solitamente è chiusa ma se trovate qualche persona del posto potete chiedere di aprirvela per visitare l’interno e salire in cima da dove si gode una suggestiva vista delle colline brianzole. La Torre di Camisasca presenta, nelle forme e nel colore, le caratteristiche principali dello stile romanico: sobrietà, robustezza e assoluta integrazione armonica con l'ambiente. Essendo nata a scopo difensivo (anche se poi trasformata in abitazione) la torre presenta delle piccole finestre "a strombo" (cioè le caratteristiche feritoie).
Le mura perimetrali hanno uno spessore formidabile di circa 130 centimetri e l'altezza attuale della torre è di quasi 12 metri.
Una curiosità: a poche decine di metri dal cache, una grata chiude un probabile accesso a un antico sistema di cunicoli sotterranei segreti che nel Medioevo collegava la Torre di Camisasca con le altre Torri di difesa (Torre di Tabiago, di Brenno, di Costa Masnaga) ancora oggi esistenti e visibili dalla Torre di Camisasca.
Parcheggiate al wp PK e incamminatevi lungo il sentiero. Dopo circa 200 metri dalla partenza in prossimità di una cascina diroccata prendere il sentiero oltre la sbarra. Il sentiero prosegue dolcemente nel bosco, sulla destra avete il fiume Lambro. L’ultimo tratto è leggermente in salita. Il percorso dura in tutto circa 25-30 minuti. E’ possibile farlo anche in mountain bike o a cavallo.

Camisasca’s Tower is on a panoramic hill of Brianza, from where it is possible to see the Resegone Mountain (north), the river Lambro valley (south), the river Bevera and the lovely hills that degrade to the Milan area.
The Tower was built around 1000 by the noble family Carcano, in order to defend themselves from the attacks of the Hungars. In that age, in the whole territory there were many castles and defence towers built by the powerful families which probably where longobard by origin. In the XII century the Tower began to be destroyed. There is an historical document that says in 1411 the Tower was used as tribunal. In the XV-XVI century the Carcano family left Camisasca village and moved to Milan, so the Tower was taken by an other noble family: Isacchi.
Recently the Tower was restored and now it is used for cultural events. Usually it is closed but if you meet someone of the locals you can ask to open the Tower and visit inside and especially have an impressive view of the Brianza hills from the top. The Camisasca’s Tower has the main features of romanic style: moderation, strength and perfect integration with the environment. The Tower was built with a defensive aim, so it is possible to see the loop-holes. The perimetric walls have an incredible thickness of 130 cm and the current height of the Tower is 12 metres.
A curiosity: a few tens of meters from the cache, a grate closes a possible access to an ancient system of secret underground tunnels that connected the medieval Tower of Camisasca with other Defence tower (Tower Tabiago, of Brennus, Costa Masnaga ) still extant and visible from the Tower of Camisasca’s Tower.
Park at wp PK and after 200 metres take the path beyond the bar. The path goes on sweetly in the wood, the last part is in light ascent. The whole path lasts 25-30 minutes. It is possible to do it by mountain bike or by horse.
