Geocache Description:

Welcome To Eagle Point!

I'm from Long Island and could tell you the history of my home town, Floral Park, I could walk you around the neighborhood and give you details of a by gone era. I love history.

When I moved out to Indiana, the history of my area became important. As you head to this cache, if you pass the corner of Vistula and Beech, the brown apartment building was once a noodle factory (According to a book on Osceola history)

The cache location is considered Eagle Point. Apparently it was a location that people would spend time in the summer, enjoying the sun and the river. You will also find that the road seemingly just goes into the river. If you look at a map, you will see that Vistula road is also on the opposite side of the river. Back in the day, this would be a crossing point for travelers.

While I know some of the history, I don't know the area like the back of my hand. If you have a story about the area, please share it in your log.

I have added a few pictures of the area because this is what you will see when you search for the cache. Please be respectful of the area, sometimes you will see people fishing so stealth or a return trip may be necessary.

Cache is a small lock-n-lock. Take care as you get to the cache location as a rock or two might need to be navigated. Caution may be needed during the winter months as the street goes straight into the water. Please no night caching, I'm not sure the residence nearby nor the Osceola police would appreciate it.
