A short diversion onto the old road away from the bustle and hustle. It is still used by the odd car, tractor and forms part of cycle route 20. At one time this was the main road and it is slightly strange to stop on this nice straight section enjoying the calm with just an occassional vehicle passing. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the cliff, made of the skeletons of ancient sea creatures. A simple drive-by cache to tempt you onto this quiet back water. Careful of the thorns! Cache is a 3" vial.
CAUTION: The road is deforming in places with the sides crumbling and some dips and hollows. They can be a little hard to see so keep your speed down or you can be in for a good bounce!
Easy access onto the old road at Witherslack, Mill Side and Gilpin Bridge. Can be done when traveling in either direction. See also GC1F6M0 and GC48C97 .
