This cache is best enjoyed if approached by canoe or kayak. It is located in an area inhabited by several beavers and you will see some of their dwellings. Expect some off-trail walking. Have Fun!

I recommend that you approach this cache by water in a canoe. Other approaches are just about all private land now. ... besides, they certainly won't be as fun. When the lake water level is not low, you can canoe from the lake up Freshwater Creek, passing several beaver dwellings. Please take some time to view and enjoy the beaver homes but maintain some distance from them so as to not disturb them.
While there are no established trails, you should have little difficulty hiking to the cache location once you arrive and beach your canoe or kayak. This cache is rated two and half/five stars difficulty due to the recommended approach requiring a canoe. However, the cache should not be difficult to find once you've arrived in the general vicinity.

The approach to Freshwater Creek becomes very shallow so if you attempt a lake-side landing, I suggest using a canoe or kayak.
